I started this site as a music blog a while back, and I’d like to continue to use it as a place for my creative work.
Note: the blog project is not dead!
I’ve always enjoyed the arts and performance. As a kid I used to have a pretend radio show with my sister and good friend, and we would use our Yamaha keyboard to make the music and record it on an old Fisher-Price cassette toy. My sister and I would make pretend film trailers and ads. We loved making mix tapes or recording from the TV, especially if we could record the score from a film. We would listen to it over and over in the car.
It’s important for me not to lose sight of my love for the arts, writing, and producing content.
When I started the blog, I received some questions from students who wanted to pursue music, but didn’t know how to get from point A to point B. Since I’m no seasoned pro, I steered the blog to profile different careers in music.
Check out some of the stories I’ve already etched out via guest bloggers, personal essays, interviews, and profiles. Below are some professions or topics I’ve already touched on (linked), and some that I am aiming for (listed but not yet linked).
Mix engineer (Andrew Dawson: Kanye West, Beyonce)
Clint Mansell, Composer (Requiem for a Dream, The Wrestler, Black Swan) Coming Soon!
Thanks for reading, and feedback is always welcome!
